TREE PRUNING

Byrds Lawn & Landscape provides complete tree pruning services in all of Brevard county area. Trees require a high level of care to maintain their structural integrity and aesthetics. When a tree is properly trimmed and maintained, it will stay healthier, grow better, reduce possible breakage during high winds, and improve the overall look of your landscape.
Specific types of pruning techniques are necessary to maintain proper structures young trees, improve shape or form in mature trees, reducing the likelihood of future damage during storms. These include cleaning, thinning, raising, and reduction.
Thinning:
The removal of specific branches that will improve the structure and increase light penetration and air movement through the crown. This also reduces weight on heavy limbs and helps retain the tree’s natural shape
Raising
The removal of lower branches from a tree to provide clearance for pedestrians, vehicles, and buildings.
Reduction:
The reduction in the size of a tree, by height or spread, often for utility line clearance or new construction.
Pruning should be considered for your trees when the branches:
Are diseased or insect-infected. Have been damaged by storms. Are dying or dead. Are hazardous to the surrounding structures. Obstruct streets or sidewalks Interfere with utilities or structures. Pose unacceptable risks.

This will reduce wind resistance within the tree once removed

Cleaning:
The removal of dead, dying, diseased, or weakly attached branches from the crown of a tree.

TREE REMOVAL

Trees provide significant benefits to our homes, businesses, and environment, but when they fall and injure someone or damage property, they become a liability. Byrds Lawn and Landscape understands the risks associated with trees and offers tree removal services to eliminate dead or dying trees, those beyond recovery, and trees that may post a safety risk to you or your family.
Tree removals should only be executed by a professional tree company. Oftentimes, our team will remove trees where there is minimal room, or where utility lines are within close proximity. Byrd's is fully insured for all tree removals, regardless of their size and scope.

Signs of when its time to remove a tree: If you notice any of the following factors on or near your tree, call Byrd's for an evaluation:

Large, dead branches. Detached branches hanging in the tree. Cavities or rotten wood along the trunk or in major branches. Mushrooms at the base of the tree.. Cracks or splits in the trunk or where branches are attached. Branches that have fallen out of the tree. Adjacent trees that have fallen over or died. A strong lean in the trunk. A recent change in grade or soil level.

What Happens After our team removes a Tree? After a tree has been carefully removed, our team will clean any remaining debris from the area and can grind the remaining stump (if requested), to allow you to cover the area with new sod, landscape rock, etc. We take great pride in our ability to efficiently remove trees in a variety of environments with little to no disturbance to nearby vegetation.

STUMP GRINDING AND REMOVAL

Stumps left after a tree has been cut down often need to be removed as well. They can be eyesores, especially if they are attached to any running roots stretching throughout your landscape.

Stump removal also reduces insect activity, mitigates new and unwanted growth, and provides room for future landscaping.

If you have an unsightly stump on your property let us know, we are happy to help. Stump grinding is the most effective way to finish the tree removal process. Our trained staff are able to safely maneuver our top of the line equipment to effectively remove your stump and exposed roots. Our stump grinder wheel is serrated and fitted with metal teeth that spin and work from the top of the stump drilling down to 5-8″ below grade. When the machine has finished grinding, you will be left with a mulch pile where there once was a stump. This mulch pile is often 20% larger than the pre-existing stump. This mulch can be left on site to backfill the depression left from the stump removal. Any excess mulch can be used in surrounding landscaping, or if you’d prefer we can haul it away for an additional fee. Some stumps may be located in areas that make stump grinding impossible, if that is the case, we can go over alternative methods of removal.
