Can You Paint Your Lawn Green?

Don’t laugh, it’s a growing trend. Instead of worrying about watering, the heat, and other concerns many are instead opting to simply paint their lawns green instead of doing all the hard work that is required to do so naturally. And surprisingly it’s safe for both pets and kids. The first I heard of it was from a guy in Sacremento who started a company during drought time that painted people’s lawns green.

Painting Your Lawn

This is something that you can do yourself or have a professional do. You can order the paint online. It’s a specialized paint that’s not only non toxic but also safe for the environment. Now this isn’t paint you’ll get from your local hardware store (at least not yet, as the trend grows this may change) it’s a special paint designed directly for use on your grass. EnviroColor is an prime example of this type of paint.

After you buy the paint all you need is a sprayer and some time to go around your lawn literally coloring it green. It doesn’t matter how dry or brown your lawn is when you’re simply coloring it in it’ll be as green as you want it to be no matter what. Just make sure to be careful around plants and areas that you don’t want painted. But other than that paint away.

Is This The Future?

So is this the future? Instead of worrying about keeping your grass green the natural way instead just painting it green whenever it gets brown? We’re not sure yet. This is a growing trend and especially with paint that is not only safe for animals and kids but also for the environment. Combine that with less work and personalized coloring (different shades of green and even reds and browns for pine straw and the like) and this is something that will only grow as time goes on.

Also opens up lots of options for holiday and celebration designs on your yard. We’ve seen everything from the American flag to sports teams logos and who knows what else will come up.
